Sourcing clothing for Grailed

Updated

Source Grailed inventory by evaluating the individual garment, not just the brand named on a wholesale box. Model, material, construction, measurements and condition can matter as much as the label when deciding what you can responsibly list and what you can afford to pay.

Choose a category you can assess

Start with pieces whose construction and wear you understand: for example, workwear, denim or outerwear. Expand into unfamiliar brands or higher-priced pieces only when you can evaluate what you are buying.

Detail Sourcing check
Identity Can you support the brand and garment description?
Labels and hardware Are useful photos available before purchase?
Measurements Do tagged size and actual dimensions differ?
Condition Are repairs, alterations and missing parts disclosed?
Price evidence Do the comparisons match the actual garment?
Preparation Can you make it ready to list within your budget?

These checks help structure a buying decision; they are not a universal authentication procedure.

Prefer inspectable stock over a vague brand promise

A handpick appointment may let you examine individual garments before committing. For online orders, request actual-item photos where identity affects the price. Clarify whether a brand assortment is guaranteed or illustrated with sample pieces.

Ask how the supplier handles a disputed description before buying. A lot advertised as “designer,” “archive” or “premium” needs evidence behind the pieces, not just a category name.

Grailed's terms make sellers responsible for listing accuracy and prohibit counterfeit products. Its selling guide explains that listings may undergo authenticity review and can be rejected. Calculate a buying limit per garment

Use comparisons that match the model, material, size, condition and alterations as closely as possible. A sale of a more desirable version is not a dependable price for yours.

For a hypothetical garment expected to sell for $80, suppose current selling and fulfillment costs would total $18, preparation costs $7, and you reserve $25 for your time and earnings. Your delivered buying ceiling would be $30. This is an illustration, not a Grailed fee quote or promised return.

For mixed lots, allocate cost across the pieces you can actually identify and sell. Do not let one apparent standout justify an order whose other pieces you have not assessed. Read the resale pricing guide for batch calculations.

Keep inspection notes with the item

Photograph labels, closures, wear and alterations. Record the measurement method and assign a storage reference so the right garment reaches the buyer. Preserve available sourcing records without treating them as proof beyond what they establish.

Test a manageable batch before placing a larger repeat order. Track actual proceeds and unresolved or unlistable pieces as part of the result.

Stockhouse accepts sourcing requests for its upcoming US wholesale marketplace. Specify categories, sizes, condition and budget; live lots are not yet available. Stockhouse is independent of Grailed.

Compare supplier routes, condition grades and eBay sourcing before choosing where the next batch fits.

Questions

Where can I source clothing to sell on Grailed?
Options include handpicked vintage warehouses, thrift stores, collection purchases and wholesale suppliers. Choose sources that let you assess the individual garment's identity, condition and cost rather than relying only on a brand list.
Does a branded wholesale lot guarantee authentic items?
No. A supplier's description does not replace inspection or establish authenticity. Ask for detailed actual-item photos and available provenance; do not list items whose identity you cannot support.
Does Grailed authentication guarantee my sourced item will be accepted?
No. Grailed may review listings and reject them. Do not treat a hoped-for platform review as a reason to buy stock you cannot confidently identify and describe.
